August Riska is a legendary Slovak born bassist and veteran of the European modern Jazz scene. In Czechoslovakia he has performed in three International Jazz Festivals and more recently he participated in the Jazz Festival in Edgewater, N.J. He is a recording artist both in Czechoslovakia as well as in the USA. His latest CD, August in Winter was recorded with his Trio in 2014. August also has performed with the master pianist, Dick Hyman.
